Moncur Design Associates Inc. was awarded the design and documentation of the new build Hyatt Regency at Bloomington Central Station, located in a suburb of Minneapolis. Moncur Design Associates Inc. is responsible for not only the Interior Design, but we have also fulfilled the role of Lighting Designer and Art Consultant. The hotel houses 303 Guestrooms and Suites, 17,000 square feet of Event Facilities, a Business Centre, Lobby Bar, Market Grab and Go, and a full-service restaurant. The fitness facility will offer an exercise room and a pool as amenities for the Guest. The basis for the design direction was developed by Moncur Design Associates Inc. to be a celebration of the area, people and locale. The vast number of immigrants that formed the back bone of Minneapolis and Minnesota are Scandinavian and we chose to illustrate this through using mid-century Scandinavian design and color as the basis. The locale, as part of BCS and the two wildlife reserves surrounding it, are expressed through the use of Base Building materials and the curated artwork collection.
