The new McEwan Foods location at Yonge and Bloor in the heart of Toronto's vibrant Yorkville neighbourhood is the third location of Celebrity Chef Mark McEwan's gourmet grocery and Chef led food hall. Affectionately called a ‘grocerant’ it sets the trend of grocery stores with casual dining, merging a traditional food shopping experience with a restaurant concept. The purpose designed mural of the Street Level Entrance is the patrons first introduction to what awaits them at the bottom of the escalator. Encompassing 17,000 square feet, the lower level venue features an all day cafe, an artisanal bakery, an on-site butcher, an epicurean sandwich station, a custom sushi bar, a coffee kiosk, a cheese boutique, hot and cold food tables, gourmet retail items, as well as an in-store Fabbrica; another McEwan brand. Warm woods, patterned tile, cool stones, polished concrete, decorative display lighting and the distinctive McEwan purple brand colour combine to create a striking yet subtle canvas to showcase the food offerings. Designed as a contemporary market hall, each station was fashioned as a unique entity to display each product offering to its full advantage. Simply put, McEwan Foods was designed by and for food lovers.
